Assistive Technology For Special Needs Students

​Successfully educating a special needs child requires special care and resources. However, with the development of technology, it has become easier to teach kids with special needs and thus increase their ability to be an independent member of the school and community as well. ​
Technology has opened many educational doors to children, specifically to children with disabilities. Alternative educational solutions from the world of technology are helping children with physical, sensory, or cognitive impairments in many ways.
Technology works as a great equalizer for students with disabilities stopping them to participate and contribute in school, work and community. This is most obvious in individuals with mobility, hearing, or vision impairments, cognition and perception. Nowadays, there are many alternative solutions available for teachers who work with children with disabilities. These powerful and efficient tools allow teachers to provide new and more effective means of learning while individualising instruction to the wide range of student learning needs. 
One of the alternative educational solutions is assistive technology. It helps students with certain disabilities learn more effectively. With this technology enables teachers to provide an environment accommodating learning and to ensure enhanced and equitable learning environments to all special needs students. Assistive technology including simple technologies like graphic organiser worksheet to high technologies such as cutting-edge software and smartphone apps, is a dynamic field and is available in any given classroom. 
Using of assistive technology for individuals with learning disabilities is an effective approach to enhance their learning procedure. It is often seen that students with learning disabilities experience greater success when are allowed to use their abilities to work over their disabilities. It combines the best of both of these practices to provide the best tools in learning. Assistive technology for students with learning issues is defined as any device or system that help children reach their potential allowing them to capitalize on their strengths and bypass areas of difficulty.
